Malayalam, a Dravidian languages with a rich cultural heritage, is native to the state of Kerala and the union territories of Lakshadweep and Puducherry (Mahe). Apart from the enormous storage of literary works what makes it fascinating to engage with from a linguistic perspective is the kind of demographic diversity that exists within the language. Also, the migratory nature of the Malayali population has also causes the language to travel globally and create unique niches of its own wherever spoken.
